Fee


The examination fee for the ABSA Certification Examination for Surgical Assistants is $365.00. This fee includes a comprehensive study guide, sent after we receive your completed application and all associated documentations. Payment must be in the form of a bank draft, cashier's check or money order (personal checks are not accepted) payable in U.S. funds and drawn on a bank in the United States. Do not send cash. Checks or money orders should be made payable to the ABSA and must be submitted with the application materials.

Applications must be postmarked at least thirty (30) days prior to the examination date and must be accompanied by the appropriate examination fee and all required materials. Incomplete applications will be returned, to the applicant for correction.

* Applications from outside the USA require an additional $50.00 fee to cover FedEx mailing fees.

** If your check or payment is returned by your bank or PayPal as non-negotiable, for any reason, The ABSA will not process your paperwork or release any score reports until your account has cleared. You will also be required to pay a $50.00 Returned Check Fee.




Refunds

If you wish to cancel your application, a written request for a refund must be sent to the American Board of Surgical Assistants (P.O. Box 460604, Aurora, Colorado 80046-0604) within ten calendar days, following the examination date. The request must include your full name, mailing address, scheduled test date and signature. An administration fee of $100.00 will be withheld along with any optional fees. Refunds will be mailed approximately six to eight weeks following the examination date.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Anyone cancelling a transaction through their credit card company and not calling the ABSA at 1-877-617-8345, to cancel the transaction first, will be charged and billed $100.00!
