Submit A Question


The ABSA encourages and welcomes the submission of potential certification exam questions from all Surgical Assistants - Certified (SA-C's) and Board-Certified Surgeons or Surgical Residents, in any specialty. All questions submitted must be in standard examination format. In order to be eligible for consideration, each submission must have the appropriate reference included. (All references should be less than ten (10) years old.)

 All submissions will become the sole property of the ABSA.


GUIDELINES FOR EXAMINATION QUESTIONS

  • Multiple choice questions should includes a brief statement or question (the stem) and four plausible answers (the responses).
  • The stem should be meaningful and relevant to current surgical techniques.
  • Only one response should be correct and the remaining three distractors should be plausible.
  • Each question should be fully-referenced within the past 10 years.
  • The question should be typed on the form with correct spelling and grammar.
  • Please do not submit "all of the above" or "none of the above" type questions.
